Deer Sign
« on: November 18, 2008, 10:26:33 PM »
I've been scouting around in unit 407, which is in Whatcom County in preperation for the upcoming ML season.  I've been biking in to logging areas where the roads are gated closed and I'm not seeing any sign at all.  Today, I went about three miles in and saw one set of tracks.  The areas I've looked at seem to be perfect habitat.  I don't have any experience hunting these deer, so maybe I'm probably missing something.  If an area has a good deer population wouldn't there be some tracks crossing and running along the road systems?  My next plan is to bust the brush and see what happens.   This is a great site!  Thanks

Go to where there is tons of sign along the dirt roads before you start scouting any further.  That's my 2 cents.
