Fun times. 100-400L?

I'm curious about your second photo: did you add that vignette yourself or is that out of camera?

Thanks,

I am not sure the photographer has touched the capabilities of the equipment as this point. Once I start to figure out all the settings I hope to bring some stronger clarity and depth to the pics. It is a fun hobby though.

Was hoping to see these shots as I am considering this very same lens....
By my honorable conduct as a hunter let me give a good example and teach new hunters principles of honor, so that each new generation can show respect for their god, other hunters and the animals, and enjoy the dignity of the hunt.

Calling an illegal alien an 'undocumented immigrant' is like calling a drug dealer an 'unlicensed pharmacist'.

Have you considered the 70-200mm? On a crop is great for wildlife if you can sneak close. I don't prefer a bazooka of a lens.  :twocents:

I am going to rent the 70-200mm f/2.8 with the 2x for the weekend and do some comparisons I may very well be changing over.

I like the 100-400 for sure but it is big and heavy. I am not a fan of the tension ring on it either.

Try the 70-200 with a 1.4x, you will only lose one stop and be very close to the reach  of the 400mm you have, and have a much better IS system. With the 2x you will lose two stops. I'm betting you will find the 70-200 2.8 sharper. :twocents:
The things that come to those who wait, may be the things left by those who got there first!
