Tracker Safes?
« on: June 25, 2009, 09:19:33 PM »
Anyone have one?  Just saw an ad on NW Hunter.  Based in Vancouver, WA, and at $499 for a 24 gun safe, the price is right!  I'm a believer in you get what you pay for, so I'm curious about the quality.

I saw that add, also, and went to their website, which is useless.  No details about anything, nothing on where to buy, nothing.  That deters me from buying it.

I truly know nothing about em... but I find it hard to believe that they're quality would be that good for that price.  A good basic qualitative test is simply look at the weight of the safe.  That'll give you a guage on the amount of steel and fire protection.  Not an end all but give you a quick reference for judging.

i have a 22 gun cannon safari serengetti series and it weighs 620lbs and is fire rated for 60 minutes at 1200 degrees for comparison. http://www.cannonsafe.com/safarisafes.nxg
i payed $699 for it delivered to my home anywhere i needed it put. for  the price i don't think i could go wrong. the best bet for safes is to go to the sportsmens shows in the winter. there is always deals to be had with last years leftovers or something along those lines.
there's no sales tax on safes in WA either....

they look like not that great a deal for what you are getting comparatively speaking.

Bought one earlier this year. A hunting retiever training guy out of Snohomish (forget his name at the moment) was an authorized rep for the Tracker safes at the sportsman show in Puyallup.  Got to see the safe in person and it seemed great, although it was a bit lighter than I liked. Still it seemed well built, large enough for my needs and the price was right. It does have holes in the bottom for bolting it to the floor and the hardware is included. I have been very pleased with it and have no regrets. If anyone wants the info on the Snohomish dog trainer that reps for Tracker let me. I drove out and picked mine up for $500 and never looked back.

Was his name Pat Murphy?  If so, that's where I took my brittany for training camp.

Thanks for the info guys...Jackelope and JBR, that's a good tip on the shows.  I'll probably hold off til the winter shows, if for no other reason than I'd like to check it out in person before I buy.  My kiddo is only 5 months, so I've got some time before I have to worry about him.

my friend mike randall gets safes from a guy in portland that sells them to liberty. These safes are black and not shiny bright but they are very good safes. I paid 800 for my 24 gun and it has all the 1 hour fire rating and everything a guy wants in a safe his number is 509 930 7186. He is a great guy and is good to deal with. He sells a huge safe That I think is a around a 40 gun safe for about 1200 also. I think that one is the best deal.

WAcoueshunter - I can't remember the trainer's name and I tried to find the pamphlet I got from the booth, but that was months ago and well...  The trainer was not at the booth when I stopped by, but another staffer.  I was more focused on the safe so didn't pay as much attention to the trainer's name, so sorry about that.

Anyway, they had the safes at the training kennels all new in boxes and one in their office to check out in person without having to tear open a box. I'm sure they'll be at the show(s) this coming January again.

WAcoueshunter - I found the pamphlet and YES it was Pat Murphy of NW Performance Dogs.  For anyone else that's interested in the Tracker Safes through this local dog trainer, here is the info:

My buddie just bought one of those big safes at the Monroe Gun Show 2 weeks ago for $1000.00.
He has to drive to portland to pick it up.

I ran into Tracker Safes in Vegas at a show and was blown away at the quality. Tracker Safes told me the price and I thought it was too good to be true. I just bought one of their big ones (T-45) via their website not too long ago. Tracker Safes shipped it quick and I was blown away by how great they are. I think I'm tracker safes for life!

They are at all the sportsmans shows and most of the gun shows as well. They usually have a couple of deals going on as well. My cousin has 2 of them and they have been great for him.
