Have you seen this sign?
« on: February 15, 2014, 05:57:17 PM »
I was out road hunting and in a new area.  I discovered that on either side was private property or so I thought becase It was fenced on both sides.  However I came to a section that had a gate.  There was a sign  up and as you can read what it said. Public land behind this sign.  I'm not sure if this is only for property directly under the power lines.  How can I find out the actual boundaries?   Thanks.

if you don't have gps with a property app with it  Then see if there is a section corner that is marked then cross references the number with your map, then off to the county seat and find the owner.  if you are going to be hunting a lot of mixed ownership parcels of land and don't have permission to hunt it all a garmin 655 with the property app will save your bacon and avoid any confusion or bullying from other property owner's that sometimes don't have the best intent.

Get a BLM map of the area you are interested in.  It's usually a 1-mile square section, a combination of sections, or sometimes part of a 1-mile square section.  The map and a GPS unit are handy to have if someone tries to tell you that you are in the wrong area.   :twocents:
If it was easy, everybody would be doing it.

When Bernie Madoff did it, it's called a "Ponzi Scheme"
When Government does it, it's called "Social Security"

just to remind you that anyone can rent public land for grazing for $/acre. This suggest that, someone may rent this place on a regular basis and decided to fence it. So this may explains the fence and "public land" sign
