For those that change their own oil which oil filter do you use ? I'm leaning towards Baldwin,just doing my homework.

I use Mobil 1 filters on my Duramax. The Camry and the CR-V have O'Reilly Microgards which are made by Wix.

Napa gold hands down. We do run some baldwins and fleetguards on our equipment.  We have never experienced problems with either, however, I have heard a few horror stories with baldwins. Whatever you do, stay far far away from fram. JUNK.

K&N - Has a nut on the end that makes it a breeze to get on and off.

That nut is nice but almost every K&N oil filter I've opened has metal shreds in it from the thread cutting process they use. A quick Google search yields good reviews on K&N so

WIX is rated very highly by a lot of people who test them. NAPA uses WIX and tacks on a couple bucks for those who like to pay more. Avoid anything FRAM.

Yeah, a nut so you can get that sob on there suuuuuper tight 

K&n suck IMHO, I had one blow out on my jeep, cost me a motor... From the time it happened, to me getting out of where I was and realizing what happened, it was too late

It depends on the motor and application I suppose, I work as a diesel mechanic for a yacht yard when I'm not fishing in Alaska, and we use ALOT of wix filters, mainly because they are simply good filters and of how easy the numbers are to look up and cross reference, but more often than not, we take what we can find because it's not always easy to find the right filter, especially if you are looking for a particular brand. To be honest, other than my mishap with a k&n filter, I've yet to run across a "bad" oil filter. Just gotta keep up on your maintaince. On the crab boat, we buy Baldwin filters by the case, and considering what the possibilities are if we have a serious mechanical failure, under the circumstances, of say a breakdown in a big storm, I suppose I could say I've trusted my life on Baldwin filters.... And caterpillar diesels

I use delco filters when oe and napa gold often. wix makes a good product.
