Are you putting in with your father in law with all the points or by yourself?

Region F is a tough hunt, there are usually left over tags for that unit (if that tells you anything) so I have hunted it after unsuccessful draws. Deer numbers aren't high in my opinion, but there is enough country you have a chance at finding a respectable deer.

A guy I know killed a 194 inch buck in that unit the first week of the season two years ago, so they are definitely around, more so late in the season though when they start to move down the valley.

You may check out the Sunlight basin area.

Sunlight is in region F, the one you were asking about. Not so sure about heading down there the beginning of November though unless you draw a good tag or have some land access to hunt whitetails or mulies down low in the fields. The higher country stuff closes the end of October as far as the areas I've hunted.

There are some decent areas where if you get an early snowstorm the deer will come down into the foot hills but chances are slim on that happening in my opinion that early in the season.

Here is a lot of information you'll need:
http://wgfd.wyo.gov/web2011/hunting-1001823.aspx#RegionF

Also, there is more info on the DGF website for private land hunting (walk in areas). They don't come out until July. Their website has everything you'll ever need. Plus, you can call the game warden for the area:

http://www.wyominggamewardens.com/map.asp

They always have great information and they may be able to help you gain access to lands that aren't on the WIH maps.

Wishing I was fishing...or in Wyoming

I laugh at everyone complaining at Washington taking two weeks to post draw results. Wyoming is months.

I saw on another forum about people bitching about how long they have to wait for Arizona to post pronghorn & elk results.... i guess 6-9 months to prepare for a hunt isn't enough for some tool bags  :mor:

im not gunna lie I laugh really hard when I hear people ask about region F and say I'm headed to Sunlight Basin. Good Luck bring your walking Boots its a brutal area. when you drive up there find the tallest peak you can see and start walking they will be in the rocks at the top and follow the snow down.  :chuckle: I wore out a pair of heel and toe shoes on my horse last year just riding the country and scouting, Theres a fair number of deer but your going to work for it. Not to mention when your glassing a basin and spot 13 grizzlies a few sheep and 1 deer its a hunt that will test every bit of your man hood  I should be in there with a sheep hunter this year let me know if you decide to come
Never to far, Just grab another minute!
