I agree that bow preference is a wide as truck preference. I started with a PSE, then Mathews, then bow tech and back to Mathews because I liked how it felt in my hand and for me I shoots really well. I personally believe way to many are hung up on speed ratings. My DXT consistently shoots 428 grains at 28"s, 70#s at 280 fps....plenty of KE and tight pins out to 60 yards.....I don't see the need for me personally to shoot at any animal past that. My 2cents......I also prefer Penisula pro shop in Belfair. Since all the big name bows prices are set by the manufacturer you can shop around all you want the the price is supposed to be set by Mathews, Hoyt etc......

I really want the spot hogg and didn't see the 5 pin... also consider the Montana gold 5 pin..

I wouldn't wish my target panic issues on my worst enemies.  That's why I try to caution most.  It's a horrible affliction!

As much as I like the folks at Montana Black Gold and have been disappointed in recent years by the folks at Spot Hogg, I do believe the Spot Hogg sights are better built, easier to adjust and MUCH more durable.  Five pin models should be easy to find.  The wife shoots nothing but Spot Hogg five pin sights.  As did I before they pissed me off.
He asked, Do you ever give a short simple answer?  I replied, "Nope."

I'm on the other side of rad. I prefer the brightness of the mbg. I sold my wrapped hogg-it and got the ascent. I hunt hard in steep nasty stuff and broke pins every year on the spot hog. Yes they are replaceable but just a pain. My sight is a 3 pin adjustable, but if I was going to buy a non adjustable sight it would be a 5 pin. 7 is was too busy for me. You won't be disappointed in the hog or mbg. Both would serve you well. The quad rest and tight spot quiver are both top notch pieces of equipment.  You'll be very happy with both.

NW that is an awesome bow setup, you will be very happy with that rig.  As far as arrows and the weight that you are looking for FMJ's are pretty sweet.  Been shooting them for a few years and I will keep shooting them for many more.  I have had really good luck, amazing penetration and excellent flight profile with them.

Just read my way thru the whole thread. Good info from everyone.
My  :twocents: for arrows and your new set up would be Easton Axis arrows w/HIT inserts(yes, HIT)for a tough all around arrow. If you want some more speed, look at the Easton Da Torch arrows. Been shooting them since last fall and really like them. Another arrow would be the Easton Bloodline. Kind of between the other two in weight and price.
I think the trick with the HIT inserts is to clean the inside of the shaft prior to epoxying the inserts. I put a few dozen thru some torture tests and never had an insert fail to hold - I take that back - a steel deer ruined one badly, LOL.
Spot Hogg 7 pin sight. I switched from a Spot Hogg 5 pin to a Spot Hogg SDP(7 Deadly Pins) and really like it. It did take a few times out to get used to the crowded sight/pin set up but after a bit it's not confusing at all. Certainly no more than my 5 pin was. I think that no matter what you look at for a sight, you'd get used to it. Going from a single pin to a hunting sight with multiple pins might look confusing at first also.
What I really like about the Spot Hogg sight is that there is no weak link. It's a solid sight if taken care of. If you fall on it, no sight is going to hold up.
Bottom line is that it's your money, get the best you can afford and what feels good in your hand.

My new Mathews Chill :) Picked the bow up today at Fletch Setters Archery. I thought Craig had a good selection of bows, products and answered all of my questions. Not to mention a good value compared to other shops. I would recommend him...

I still need to buy some arrows. I decided to shoot my current ones and get the bow dialed in before spending a bunch on arrows. Pretty sure I will get the Easton Axis and look for cheaper arrows when I shoot 3d events.. My current Beamans aren't made anymore, but I been happy with them.

Congrats on the new bow. As long as we BS'd at my place, I wasn't sure you'd make down there today, LOL.
