Looks like a pretty good deal for a decent scope. I haven't used the Pentax but probably would on my .22 or maybe even my wife's .243. I've purchased a couple things off Camofire and it's a good site to go through. Keep us posted if you get it as I'm curious about it now. Good luck.

Well....I couldn't resist.  I pulled the trigger on one.  I will give a review when I receive it....now I need a rifle to mount it on.   :chuckle: :chuckle:

I am looking for a .22 mag or a youth single shot .243.  This scope will go on which ever one I find first.  Figured I can't go wrong for the price.  It gets great reviews and the cheapest price I could find with a quick internet search was $170.

When I was into photography, Pentax was a good name for cameras.  If the scopes are as good, no worries...
If it was easy, everybody would be doing it.

I think that's the same scope as the Burris Fullfield, which I do have, and it's a great scope for the money. The only issue is you can't use scope covers on it because entire eyepiece rotates when you change the power.

:yeah:  But then, I only put scope covers on the front lens, because that's the one that is pointed up when I carry it on a gun sling.  But that's just my  :twocents: Some scopes I don't put covers on at all, and on the ones with covers, most of the time they are just to hold the ARD device in place...

I think the Burris Fullfield is the same scope as the Pentax Pioneer from what I found out. Not made by Burris, but as nice as a Burris Fullfield. I have both. The Gameseeker is the lower quality of the Pentax scopes.

The one I bought has the 30mm tube not the 1".  The 1" gets pretty poor reviews but eh 30mm tube or newer one gets 4.5+ out of 5 on every review I found.  I hope it is works out.  Can't imagine it wont' for $113.

Okay, you're right, I knew one of the Pentax scope was the same as the Burris Fullfield. I guess if the Gameseeker is of lesser quality, I wouldn't want to use it on any serious hunting rifle. But if it's just for a plinker then it should be fine.

My last 2 scopes were 30 mm.  I can't really see that much difference between the 30 mm and the 1" scopes.  And, they make inserts if you want to put a 1" scope in 30 mm rings.  :twocents:

I really liked mine it was very clear-I showed it to a person at range and he asked why crosshair was sideways-steped up and bought Zeiss z600.

I put a gameseeker  4x12x40 on a beater 30-06 I picked up.  3rd shot at the range and the crosshairs fell sideways inside the scope.
Returned it for warranty to Pentax and they sent me a new one,  no issues since.  I like the scope, it's seems to be better quality than what I paid for.

I have a Burris LRS 3.5-10 scope with a 30mm tube on my AR that I use for coyote hunting.  It has an illuminated dot in the crosshair, and I never gave illumination a thought until I went coyote hunting at night.  I couldn't see the crosshair in the dark, but I could see the red dot!  I have scopes with more than 10x power, but I have found 10x to be plenty...
The best feature, in my mind, is that the illumination turns itself off after 1 hour.  Perfect for absent-minded SOB's like me!

I've heard of this happening to other scopes as well, so It's not exclusive to Pentax.  Usually happens to scopes mounted on .30-06's and other "Big Boomers"!  :chuckle:

I'm hoping this cross hair problem has been worked out.  Like I said this scope gets rave reviews where the older model does not get such good reviews.  I guess we will find out soon enough...  :chuckle:

From what I read on a post on rokslide, Pentax has gotten out of the scope market and these are the close outs, supposedly Pentax had a hefty supply in a warehouse for warranty issues

:yeah:  I think the reason some companies are dropping out of the scope market isn't because their product is bad, it's 1;  The market is clogged with scope companies, and more pop up all the time, and 2;  The economy is in worsening shape as time goes by.  I predict that in a year's time, you will see a lot of stuff for sale REAL CHEAP!  :twocents:
