How many people go out of state to hunt pheasant? Where do you go?
I have hunted ringnecks in several western/ mid western states but my most frequent trips are to the Dakotas. I don't have deep pockets so I hunt public land or land I can get permission on. My Dad just got a new pup and we started talking about a trip next year. I thought it would be fun to hear about other's trips.

MT quite a bit.
SD once in a while... long way
Used to hunt ID a lot but like eastern WA, the #s aren't as good as they used to be.

I've been fortunate to have access to private land in both SD and MT.  That being said, I have hunted some public access land in both states.

Here in SD the hunting is just as good on public land as it is on private land.I hunt public land all the time and most of the time never see another hunter and I get my limit 95% of the time.
