Terminally ill opportunity

 What would you do if at the prime of your life you were diagnosed with Cancer, we all know someone that's been affected in some way, would you give in to the inevitable or would you fight for every last moment of every day, one of my fellow Firefighters who was as strong as an ox was reduced to a fraction of himself in less than one year, his strength taken from him but not his will, his passion was hunting. Washington state has created opportunity's for persons with Terminal illnesses in the form of special permits, I was made aware of this fact last year from one of the Hunt- Wa members, so I'm passing this information on so that others can take advantage of this opportunity, My friend has drawn a any Elk tag for GMUs 328 thru 335, he's not able to walk but his will is strong, we have until the end of March to fill his tag, this hunt will be more about the experience with family and friends and less about the size of the antlers, PM me for more information on how to apply for this opportunity

If you need any help with this please holler you probably know more people and more places but the roommate knows of a few spots he takes an awful lot of elk pics.

We have had tremendous support from the locals, and fish and wildlife, the challenge will be getting him in range to make a good clean shot, he's unable to walk but like I said his  will is strong.

Currently going thru this w/my wife who is terminal also and only 51 years old.  Stage IV Ovarian/Peritoneal cancer is back for a third time, this time within 5 months of cessation of last round of Chemo.  After it came back a second time, Dr's provided 12 to 24 months survival guesstimate.  Now that it's back so soon after second round of chemo, Dr's won't hazard a guess (or won't tell us) and have indicated they would rather we not focus on negative statistics.  In other words, not good.  Our guesstimate is 4 to 6 months (maybe a little more), depending on cancer's response to new chemo regiment this time.  My wife loves to travel and we just returned from a vacation in Mexico with a total of 10 family members.  She's not a huntress, or I would be taking advantage of this program too.

Time spent w/family and good friends is very important!  Soothes the soul and eases the mind.  Again, good luck to you both!

 We went out Saturday with a group of close friends and he filled his tag, a nice 6x6 bull, the family will be forwarding pictures to the DFW, out of respect for the family I wont be posting any pictures, it was a great experience to be part of this hunt not just because he was successful but more importantly it was being able to share one last hunt.

If I had known it was who it is, I would have called in sick and went with you guys.  I work with his wife, and have met him on several occaisons.  I am glad he was able to get the job done on a nice bull (yes, they posted pics on the wall at work)     You must be proud to be able to be part of that incredible memory..
