WA Wild Sheep Fndn THANKS
«
on:
March 09, 2014, 11:50:14 AM »
Guys and Gals thank you for supporting conservation! We can’t do what we do without you. It means a lot to me personally that you are willing to step up and support wildlife, specifically wild sheep, even though you may have never or may never hunt sheep.
Science is getting close to unravelling the key to disease prevention, the major stumbling block for wild sheep (habitat loss is not much of an issue; no one in their right mind is going to build a house where those critters live). When (and I believe that it is a when not an if) a vaccine is developed it will be the single greatest achievement in the history of big game conservation. Our kids and/or grandkids will wonder why it was such a big deal to draw a sheep tag.
Financially last night was a barn burner. I have not seen any numbers yet but I am very confident that
we
crushed it!!!
We
being every single person in a seat last night.
As always we are looking for areas to improve. If you have suggestions please let me know. Also if you saw something that you really liked let me know as well so we can keep doing it.
Thanks again,
Andy Kelso

That's great news to hear...
I wonder who won the sheep hunt?

I think one of the board members from Idaho or Oregon won it.

Last night was awesome! I'm sitting here enjoying my copy of Barebow that I won in the first auction. Looking forward to next year as this show keeps getting better and better.

Was a great time and worth the price of a lifetime membership last night. Also was very encouraged to hear the WWSF admin costs is 4%! Amazing commitment to putting the money given to work for conservation.
Coach and I both bought a sheep to put back on the mountain for the Tieton herd and I encourage others to give if they can to a fantastic organization.
The moose tag went for 35k and I still dream of holding it one day.

Falcon, I would have to second that, banquet committee's are a lot of work and it was evident that these folks worked very hard to put on a great banquet. This was my first WAWSF and am planning on a lot more! Thanks again to all involved. Does anyone know if the winner is a member here?

Thanks Falcon, we have a very good team and it nice to see folks like yourself to step up and help out when and where they can.
I think it is about time for us to sit down and have a cup of coffee.

Thanks to everyone for the tremendous support. Wild sheep populations in Washington and elsewhere, for that matter, will benefit greatly from the funds raised at the WA WSF banquet. Thanks to all of the volunteers that stepped up before, during and after to help pull off such an enjoyable event.
