o/u or sxs for upland

I have a CZ Bobwhite and love it so far. It packs quite a punch since it so light but I really like carrying it. Like others said, that kind of cash wont buy you a "fine" shotgun but the CZ's are good. I didn't want to spend 2000 on a SxS just to find out I can't shoot it so I bought the bobwhite on sale. Tell us what you get.

I shot the bobwhite in 28 gauge once it was pretty nice, execpt for the stright stock I don't like the way it feels, everytime I shot my middle finger would slam into the back of the trigger guard .

a side by side with two triggers. Learn to shoot two triggers and you will love yourself for it.

I have a matched set of 12 gauge o/u double triggers full chokes, picked them up in Turkey back in 01 for 170 for both, they shoot great and they are both made by Huglo. I like the double trigger over the single trigger with the selector switch.

Robb, I have never seen an over under with double triggers. The Huglo's have them? Never seen em.

In my last year in England I shot over 160 pheasant and about 50+ huns with them, plus several thousand woodland pigeons and plenty of clay pigeons. I have shot over 1,000 rounds through both guns combined and have had no problems with them, I don't use them as much since I got stationed in Maryland and live in Virginia there isn't any upland hunting here, but they are wrapped in towels in the gun cabinet so that the wood doesn't get dinged. I take them out twice a month and clean and re-oil them.

I would also visit Sportsman's Warehouse, Black Sheep (in C'dlane) and White Elephant for better prices on the CZ's than Cabela's.

I own several handsaws. I cut wood with a skil.

As to shotguns, yeah, I got several. I hunt with a benelli.

The fact of the matter is that you need to do some research on your own to find what will fit in the budget.  Don't get caught up in the name brand of the shotgun.  I own a Stoeger Uplander.  The Ruger Red Label is nice.  There are even a few others I wouldn't mind owning.  Do your research on the internet and most sites post what the MSRP is for the guns.  Good luck with the choices, and happy hunting (birthday).
