Newport Turkeys?

Ill be driving from Marysville to pick up a 1978 Bronco in Newport, WA next month. I figured I would hunt while Im over there, kill 2 birds so to speak.

Anyone know if that area is any good or should I just make for Colville after I pick it up? :dunno:

The Newport City Park is often found to hold a huge flock of turkeys.  Driving through town, you'll find MANY turkeys in people's yards...lol

I camp in the campground in Newport and hunt all over in the area. You will see turkey in town, but there is also a lot of public land to hunt. Talk to the guys at the sporting goods shop and buy something they will usually steer you in the right direction.

tons o turkeys around Newport,the problem is they are all cow pie fed so head up in the hills and get one the way the Indians used to do it,myself I don't hunt civilized birds anymore specially since I went to the bow,so anyway best of luck !! get the white head !! :IBCOOL: :IBCOOL:
