Nice whitey set** More pics**
« on: March 14, 2014, 06:34:34 AM »
Found these yesterday about 100 yards apart. It's a buck I've hunted in the past. This is a pic from fall of 2011 I figured he was 4.5 yrs old in 2011. This set is extremely heavy . A buck I'll be on the lookout for this summer.

I love the facial expression change between the first shed picture and the matched set picture. One shed is cool, but a set is awesome.

Nice find!

very cool! I hate to say it but it appears you might have the left off another deer, by looking at the tc. But still a great find

The trail can picture was from 2011. He might not have put that g4 on this year, which is what I am thinking you are referring to by thinking it's not the same antler. There is 2 different growing periods between the picture of the whole deer and the picture of the shed. That's how I read the post. Great shed!

I went out yesterday and still have feet of snow to deal with at 1800 feet. Didn't find anything other than a bloody moose track that I followed for a half mile trying to figure out the cause of all the blood. Didn't seem to be the Ice crusted snow caused it because it was never in or near the hoof print, drops were constant and well outside the prints. Never found a cause or the moose.

the sheds are a match 100% positive...Whitetails can add or gain points from year to year..I have watched 100's of big whitetails change year to year. I have seen bucks that you thought were going down hill one year to only be even bigger the following year. Its all about health of the buck coming out of winter and quality of food thru the summer that ultimately effects the antler development.
