I always wonder how someone can be proud to kill something when they just run around on a quad to get it.

the thing about 4 wheelers is (as I understand it) they are not street legal so they can not legally be ridden on roads, and most places you can't go off road either. ORV parks or private land is about it.

I dont put those kind in the hunter category, its insultive to hunters. those are the same kind that guzzle booze, poach, shoot and if it dosnt fall dead they move on, shoot deer on private land, you know the type. Morons that should not even own guns or sharp tools. Unbelivable how many there are these days

In the hills around Yakima quads have become a great problem. HELL, everywhere they are. Guys ride out ridges without roads for miles. My dad called a yakima game warden personally for 2 striaght years about the same jokers riding in on quads and he never went up there to see. He stopped by their camp, a lot of good that did. He could have had five citations plus any loaded guns they had. Frustrating. Shoot on site I guess. ;)

Last year in Idaho Elk hunting a couple of *censored* bags were riding on a closed road.  We were watching them from a couple of miles away.  They would ride down the road 300 yrds, stop, bugle, crack a beer, light cigarettes.  Then down the road another 300 yrds same routine.  I feel sorry for those guys.  We left them a very polite note that said ,stay off the road *censored* bag.

Had same experience last Saturday on late buck here in mason county. We hiked into an area behind closed gates ( no motorized vehicles ). First off run into a guy who had his truck in there, then ran into another person in their jeep, then the quad man. The quad man never got off his quad and just made circles around the area on every road and trial there was that we were trying to hunt. After much frustration of running into the people that had driven into this no motorized vehicle area that we hiked into, we left. But what really chaps my ass is the quad guy shot a deer right before dark where we were trying to finish the day at. One more area I will not be hunting again, and it's a shame because it is a great spot.

Hunt it again, but bring about a dozen guys with you and kill every legal critter you can. That might make the other guys go away.

Maybe I'll bring them and have them guard at the gate. By the way they had to go through 2 gates to get to this area.

i dont agree with them riding on closed areas or off the trails/roads, but i dont see why they cant be used on the logging roads to get to your spot and then hike or to use them to transport your deer to camp, in some ways quads are good and in some ways they arent, plus they are loud and you can buy silencers for the mufflers that make them quiteter, now riding in places where hunters are thats ridiculous, i personally dont own a quad but plan on buying one soon just for transportation, I respect all hunters anytime i see another hunter hunting in a area before me then i respectfully leave that area since its taken already and i move on to another spot its a plus for me as i dont like hunting around other hunters no disrespect  but im sure everyone is like that too

We were hunting in SW MT this year. The usfs closed some roads due to muddy road conditions, not one atv went around the gates. The fine was 5000$.There were camps with 4 to 6 ATVs.It is possible to stop this kind of b.s.

Immediate confiscation would likely keep them out of closed areas -- much like if they stop someone with drugs in a vehicle. Think about the money law enforc. could get back by auctioning them off at the end of the year.

I'd love to buy an auctioned quad.  I'd ride the sh*t out of it (legally of course).

Take their rigs away and take 10 points from them for every violation.  I bet that will keep the hunters honest

personally i dont think that taking the rigs away right , i dont think every hunter should live by how other hunters think , if they are breaking the rules then thats there problem not ours , all we can do is report them and if action is taken then they will deal with it , but if they are riding in an area where you are allowed to then whats the problem yea they are loud and all but hey we can do nothing about it , i mean if we piss them off and they piss us off a shooting war might go on  :P
