Looking for LEO and expert reloaders advice for Term paper.

I am currently doing my 10 page term paper on Ballistic fingerprinting.  In my thesis I have brought up the comments many reloaders have made about using reloads for self protection.  I have always been told that a prosecuting lawyer would make you out to be the bad guy in the courtroom.  If possible could at least two of you from each side either do a phone interview or if close to whidbey island a face to face interview?  Thanks for any help in this

I carry Re-loaded Ammo for Self Defense.   If any of you Internet Experts can show me a documented case where someone was prosecuted after defending themselves with Handloads  when they otherwise wouldn't have been charged after using Factory ammo for self defense,   I will make the switch to factory ammo.

 the fact that this has happened a few times , and has been documented does make factory ammo a clear choice for carry for me. cost is not really an issue, as other than checking function and maybe point of impact in your gun- it's not like you use a lot of rounds- a box of good hollowpoints for carry, and your practice loads for practice, etc.. not difficult. If the attorneys bring it up- you then have the nearly bulletproof resonse, "why did I buy gold dot hollowpoints?, because I read that it was one of the most common police loads"

The media does a good job of painting us with a broad brush as well. How many times have you heard
"personal arsenal"
covers anyone with more then one gun or
"cop killer bullets"
for any wadcutter/hollow point/expanding round with or without a solid core. How about
"sniper rifle"
just about any hunting rifle bolt action or not.
And of coarse our favorite
"military style assault rifle"
for everything from ARs to black semi-auto rifles that just plain look scary.

How are the listed cases self defense?  The first one they debunked that reloads made any difference.  The second, the husband offed his wife or she offed herself.  Those aren't self defense cases.

Mas made a big deal about reloads, he writes a lot of books, and people regurgitated what he said over the years.  Find a case where someone was convicted in a legitimate SD case.  I haven't found one yet.

LEO's using handloads?  I think if it supplied to me for free I would use it.     I use Hand loads now because they're cheaper and I like to carry the same ammo that I practice with at the range.   Same with my hunting rifles.  I use the same ammo shooting from the bench as I carry in the field.   (shotgun shells are a different story)     I also wouldn't consider my handloads "deadlier" than factory self defense rounds.  Mine are not really hot loaded and the bullets are less expensive JHP.  Just whatever shoots good, but practice is important.

If you are justified in shooting someone in self defense or the defense of others, it won't make two shizzits of difference if you use a .22 short or a .454 casull.  Nor will it make a difference if you use state of the art reloads or Wal-Mart clearance ammo.  What will matter is whether the use of lethal force was justified and did you display any negligence in the use of said force (shot an innocent bystander).

I believe he is asking if any LEO has been involved in such a case not the one using the hand loads
