Thanks, everybody! Sorry I haven't replied sooner. Yes, my husband will never live this down, he ate his tag. I do have more pics that I will get on here.
Well here is more of the story, you asked for it..... After I dropped my husband off and drove to where I wanted to watch I parked the truck on one side of the logging road behind a couple of little fir trees and walked across the road and stepped up on the bank where I could look over this reprod area. I had been there for about 5 or so minutes and heard a branch crack so I just kept watching in that direction and all of a sudden I seen tips of his antlers about 70 or so yards away and they were coming in my direction I had the wind in my favor and he was just calm as can be so I just stood there and watched the antlers grow (why I did not start shaking uncontrollably I do not know) Any way his head came in to view and I was not brave enough to take a head shot so I waited till I could see his chest and pulled my rifle up and got him right above the point of the shoulder in the neck. His legs folding land he just rolled on to his side just like you see on TV. I don't want to sound like I am bragging because I was really thinking there is no frickin way and he is going to get up and run but he didn't. We got the bull loaded (gutted & whole) in my husband Dodge Dakota (which was real fun loading) We were back on the main road and we got pulled over for doing 55 in a 35 all the Sheriff could say was "impressive", didn't check insurance or registration or give us a warning. Anyway the rack is GREAT! I will say and the meat is as tender as the Angus steers we butchered last year so all in all I really lucked out! ;D
