Here's a common theme regarding hunt-wa and NE corner elk. People keep the info so close and so to themselves that there's barely ever even a picture posted here....nevermind a picture posted with information saying it's a NE elk. For that reason alone, I think you won't see too many pics on here.

" In today's instant gratification society, more and more pressure revolves around success and the measurement of one's prowess as a hunter by inches on a score chart or field photos produced on social media. Don't fall into the trap. Hunting is-and always will be- about the hunt, the adventure, the views, and time spent with close friends and family. " Ryan Hatfield

In all seriousness, for any unit (including Spokane) contact WDFW and ask them for pointers.  They are there to help.  You'd be surprised at the scouting you can get from our public offices.  They are out there every day and know where animals tend to be and when.  I've used them on numerous occasions.

If you want to hunt half an hour from Spokane, contact WDFW and see what they give you.

For those of you who have honey holes on public land that nobody knows about, this shouldn't be a problem, because nobody knows about them, right?  :chuckle: (you'd be surprised what the all-knowing gov knows).

Half hour from Spokane won't find you much to hunt.  There really isn't any major tracts of public land within a half hour of town.  Stretch it to an hour and you might be getting closer.  But as for the WDFW the info they give is pretty limited in this part of the state.  I don't think they are intentionally vague about it, it's just that they are not nearly as big or visible as the herds in other areas of the state.

 :yeah:

You might be surprised with what they know but you'd probably be surprised at what they don't know.

If you haven't been out looking for them, you probably haven't seen many elk in the NE.  Even if you have been out looking for them, you probably haven't seen many elk in the NE   :chuckle:

That and the fact that they either are anti hunting or they want to fill their own freezers.     They along with the local logging community have the best tabs on the elk in that area, and maybe an occasional whitetail enthusiast or wildlife photographer. :chuckle:

Occasional whitetail enthusiast or wildlife photographer   :chuckle:  wonder who they'd be   :chuckle:

Bone, that could be your next conquest with your longbow - a 300+ bull from the NE.  Or have you already done that too?

So what's the deal with not posting pictures?  :dunno: Especially if they were killed on private property?

Bones probably done it but only post deer pics... :chuckle:

I'm not an expert but I'd submit that the kind of pictures you want to see are mostly public land kills.  Unless you mean close to Spokane/Cheney, then they are private.

There was a monster bull found dead on the Turnbull a few years ago, anyone have that picture?   :dunno:  It was a really heavy 6x6 if I remember correctly.

Also, to the OP:  you aren't likely to find pictures of elk around Spokane and definitely not IN Spokane  :)

Did you get permission to post that?  I know the story behind that elk and the hunter probably wouldn't be happy about it.

Stud bull though, 2009 right?
