We don't use the snubbers when we run off the downriggers. If you have nice soft action rods and use a light drag you should do fine. We do use them when running rods with banana weights and stick it on the lure side of the weight.

We should try to do asome kind of get together on the lake this year and do some real damage to koke population.

I may also have an open seat from time to time as well and will let ya know if/when that occurs.

 :yeah:

I put the snubber in front of the lure. That way it is the same if you run a blade string or dodger, or just plain weight.

Getting itchy............thinking of hitting the lake this weekend.

Mallard.....I subscribed to your YouTube channel....some good vids on there and I especially like the koke one.

Anyone else thinking of heading out for kicks and giggles?

That settles it....I'm going. Gotta make a test run eventually!

Also, I believe we can fish two rods with endorsment on Lake Stevens.....correct?

Correct. I'm headed over to Banks and Rufus this weekend but will be ready to hit Stevens when we get back.

Went for a short trip this evening. Saw a few jumpers. Not even a bump on any of our 4 rods. Never saw a net fly in any of the other boats we could see. This weeks warmer weather should help get things moving.

Very cool. We will most likely be out if the weather is good. My son wants to try his boat out for kokanee. He even pulled it out today and played with downrigger placement and where his stuff is gonna go. He didn't want to drag the gas motor or  batteries out and his little brother put the anchor in.  :chuckle:  I will be trolling along side him giving him pointers if he needs them. Should be fun watching him doing it on his own even if the fishing isn't red hot.

Just a heads up to anyone planning to fish Lake Stevens this weekend...there will be a regatta going on. Not sure what the official schedule is but they usually do a pretty good job tying up the city launch for most of the day.  :bash:

Do you refer to the smaller eastside launch as the city launch? If so I was planning on waiting for the launch on the west side to open the gates and launch from there.

Also.....mainly a ? for Mallard....what depts are you running on the riggers? I was thinking of running three rods....two riggers, one at 15 or so and one at 8 or so, and a long line off the stern with 1/4 oz or 1/2 trolling weight.

Yes the small east side launch is what I consider the city launch. We like to get an early start so we launch there 99% of the time.

We have been running anywhere from 45' to a long line with no weight about 120' behind the boat. There hasn't been a real conistant depth that we have found yet. Most have been in the top 30'. I am hoping to get the fuel pump on the kicker fixed tonight and fish tomorrow afternoon. This warm weather should help get things moving in the right direction.

Thats what I'm hoping with the warm weather.

I figure Sunday to be a trial run. Fish some gear, change a few things out, if we hook up we hook up. If not, no worries.

Do you know if Gregs carries any trout sized rigger releases? My salmon ones are a bit on the heavy side.

I would be very suprised if they don't. Give them a call 425-335-1391. If they don't Wally World up there sells some good ones for about $6.
