How much to re-fletch arrows?

I have several arrows that need the vanes stripped off and replaced.  How much should I expect to pay for this service at an archery shop?

Band- We charge $3 per arrow for a standard 3 fletch arrow. Any wraps or 4 fletch will be an additional charge. Not sure what other shops are charging so I can't help you there.

Go to Evergreen or whoever is your local shop, and buy an AZ fletch, some glue, and two colors of fletchings. You can now repair your own arrows in less time than it takes to drive to the archery shop, and for pennies after the initial investment of $40. You're welcome.

I wouldnt do it for 6$ a shaft..........First timers, I help strip and show how to do it, them taking over after a couple shafts.........next time, a couple minutes of refresher, then they do it themselves........no reason guys cant bring you stripped shafts...........

We would have no problem teaching someone to fletch but that's not what the OP asked. Unfortunately fletching, glue have a cost and our time / labor is worth something. In the long run it is cheaper to buy a jig and do repairs yourself but there are folks that just don't want to mess with it.

$3.00   that's fair and if you don't re-fletch very often make sense.. Of course if you need to re-fletch all the time than buying a jig makes would be a good idea. Although I can't recall the last time I had to fletch one of my arrows. With the new blazers I don't seem to have the issue that I used to with the 4 or 5" fletching's.

You read it wrong man...........I wouldnt do it for 6 bucks is to indicate you are being very generous @ 3bucks......its a pain in the butt to strip arrows to refletch, imho, and a chore that I accept as my own when needed because I know there are shop guys out there that provide it as a service only because it goes with the territory.

Fletching is just one of those things that for me is a must do yourself chore.  I think a jig should be sold with every bow........

For me, $3 a shaft is more than fair. And it's about supporting our archery shops. I can't even count how many shops have come and gone. There isn't a huge margin that these shops have room to deal with. It's only getting harder for them too with online shopping. If you want to be able to have a name and face to talk to when purchasing archery equipment, then go support your local shop. If $36 is too much to get your arrows re fletched, then take up a different sport. Although I don't know of many cheaper than archery.

I love fletching my own. The only thing I don't have is a shaft cutter, which I want but don't need. I get real enjoyment out of wrapping the shafts and then using my own colors, having everything line up the same. It's very satisfying to do a dozen arrows and then see them all done together. I know; I'm really simple.

I like fletching my own also.  I am fortunate enough to live within a mile of Cabelas.  I just take my arrows over there and they cut them to size for free.  it doesnt matter that I dont buy them there.

The only thing I dont do for myself YET is make my own strings.........but that is next.

Im am going to treat a new string this morning, then do a remove and replace after it dries...........for myself.

I love fletching new shafts, its the scraping them off carbon shafts I hate............thats why I still love aluminums, even though I mostly shoot carbon.

If your in auburn, I suggest going to evergreen archery, get them refletched, watch them do it and take home a jig

Thanks for the suggestions.  As rarely as I have the need to get vanes redone (this will be my first time ever, actually) I think I'll pass on doing them myself and take them to the local shop.  Rock Creek Archery is close and I was happy with the bow tuning they did last year so I think I'll have them redo my vanes.  I only have about 1/2 dozen that need to be redone.

I used the slip on Blazer Vanes last year just submerge in hot water works great, I didn't notice any difference in weight, and didn't have to wait for a shop to get er done.

I've always thought those looked interesting.  Have you tested them long enough to know how they hold up long term?  I wonder if they loosen over time and slip on the arrow shaft?

I got my moneys worth out of the ones I built, it was to late to go purchase another dozen arrows right before the archery elk opener, filled my tag with one that I put the shrink to fit vanes on, haven't had any issues with the arrows that I built 3 years ago, in a pinch they did the job.
