Scouting Hucklberry
« on: March 21, 2014, 01:25:44 PM »
Hello,
Heading up Sunday to do my first scouting run into Huckleberry unit. My 16 year old son drew a spring tag. Don't know the unit but any info anyone is willing to share via PM would be great. I can also trade a good fishing trip on Roosevelt for access/trespass if anyone is interested.
Thanks,
Mike

Still a lot of snow on the logging roads. You might be a little early, but what the heck.
I couldn't care less about what anybody says..............

Thanks Campmeat.  I don't know Huckleberry at all so this will just be a drive the roads and get familiar trip. I live in Colbert so the drive is not too bad.

Huckleberry usually doesn't get hot until May. That being said I've found bear in mid April if you know where to look - lower elevation, south-facing, etc.

I didn't draw this year, but my 74-year-old father-in-law did so we'll be out there! Good luck to you and your son!
