Over penetration? Why are you worried about that? If that's the only reason you want a smaller caliber I highly suggest you look into the fbis research on the amount penetration they feel necessary to stop a threat. You have the big brother and it's mags will fit, go for a gen 4 glock 30

My first carry gun was an XD .45. Lots of big bullets and felt like I was carrying a baby on my hip. I bought an LC9 with a Crimson Trace sight and carry it in my pocket. It shoots great groups without the kick you might expect for a lighter gun. You do have to check the laser every time you come back from the range, but it's a great change from the XD. The XD now has an exhalted position at the head of my bed. :)

The 26 would be a good choice...just find one that fits good. You got a glock already so you must like em.

The XD's a good tool. I would like to try the XDM and the S series. I bet they'd be a good carry. Wish list!

I had the xdm in 40, didn't like it.  Dad had the xds 45, it's not that much smaller then my glock 30 and I have 5 more rounds.. not to mention it has to go back for the recall issue. The xdm was nice because I had 16 rounds of 40, it just needed new sights, I hated the stock ones.

Why would you be worried about over penetration?  :dunno:
Are you using "ball ammo"  :dunno:
Use a good hollow point, expanding round.

Smaller package for CC I can understand, If you already have a Glock, I would get a G36  or an XD-s or any other (single stack) they are easy to conceal, in .45 auto so the ammo is compatible with what you have.
Only 2 defining forces sacrificed themselves for you:
The American Soldier and Jesus Christ. One died for your freedom, the other for your soul.

He trains my hands for war and my fingers for battle.

Exactly. We put my 30 next to my dad's xds and there's not that much difference.. I was 5 11 170 and could conceal a full size xdm no problem.. it's all how and where you carry it.

I've found that penetration is the one thing that everyone worries about too much. You know what the worst case of over penetration is? MISSING the target... There are no guarantees that each one of your shots will connect with the bad guy, and a flier that misses is way worse than an "over-penetration" in center of mass.

Just food for thought

On a side note, I'd go 9mm without a doubt. The smaller 9mm pistols are not much larger than comparable .380's.

Choose a suitable carry load in a caliber you shoot well and have confidence in, and carry-on.

I prefer HST's and Gold Dots in +p for 9mm, 124 gr. A glock 26 or 19 should serve you well.

I carried the XDM 3.8 compact until the weight of it began to bother my hip.  I got the Smith & Wesson Shield in 9mm and love it.  Shoots great, and is very slim/small.

Depending on where I'm going I carry one of these: XDS 45, Glock 29sf 10mm, Glock 23 40 cal ( rarely anymore because of the mags not dropping ) they've always stuck and you have to pull hard to get them out. But, the 23 is 25 years old too.

I bought my wife a Taurus TCP 380, It jams all the time and is going for warranty to fix it. Don't buy one, it's not reliable.
I couldn't care less about what anybody says..............
