My research is you MUST pay the $40 dollar fee. I've always bought points the past 8 years and have had to buy for the whole tag up front and wait for a refund. I'll send them my $40 dollars and let it ride a few more years before I hunt a deer there.

Don't you still have to front the entire license/tags cost upfront and they just refund everything but your points fees?

Has anyone bought the Non res fishing lisence for $56 so you don't have to pay the $40 for each big game with the points only option? Did it work fine?
It says so on Page 2 of their Regs so I assume it's legit. Makes sense if you're gonna buy deer and elk points but not if'n you're only gonna do one species. Also you might as well buy a 2014 fishing license if you're planning on buying points again in 2015...

That's not how I read it. If you purchase a fishing license you do not need to pay $40 per specie.

As far as I know, yes. Even if you are just applying for points you must pay the full price, then they just refund everything except the fees.

I talked to the fish and game there and they told me the same thing. If you buy the fishing license then you don't have to pay $40 per species. So it saves you a little money.

I forgot to mention that you have to buy a 2013 fishing license for it to count towards this years preference points.

I must have misread something. I applied for my points and buy my elk tag. I had to pay everything upfront and will wait for the refund. BTW, a cow elk tag is up to $450. That's rape, IMO.

if you only apply for elk point it's cheaper to just pay the $40 for at the point. If you apply for 2 or more big game then it's cheaper the just buy a Non res fishing License then you don't have to pay the $40 point fee.

No matter what way you do it you have to pay the full tag fee up front. Then if you don't draw then you will get refund minus any fees and the The $40 if you don't have some type of 3013 license.
