REI has some Zamberlain boots. I think I spelled that right. Or Ross did...one or the other.

I am currently on year 4 of my Zomberlan Civetta's. Break in time was not ideal and took about 50 miles of good hiking before they were really comfortable. I have well over 500 miles on them now and they are still going strong. I have to waterproof them a few time a year but other than that you won't hear me say anything bad about them. I used them to train for Mount Rainier a few years back and wear them on every hike/hunt that I do weather it be in the Olympics for early archery or the snow for late buck. I'm pretty hard on my gear and these have held up as well as any boot I have ever owned. I still have a few seasons left in these and will most likely stay with zamberlan or asolo. They eat boot laces so have some extras on hand. If you take care of the leather they will take good care of you.

Cool I will check out REI. They probably dont have the boot I am wanting but at least it will give me an Idea.
And Josh you were right No D at the end.
Does anyone know if this is a anti hunting company? Dont want to give them my money if they are.
Only reason I am looking at these is because I can get them half off.

The ads I've seen for them show a guy rifle hunting, so I would take that to mean they are not anti-hunting.

These guys are not anit-hunting. In fact far from it. Here is a quote direct from their website that is linked above.

"Zamberlan has developed a line of boots for the purpose of hunting in extreme and varied environments. These boots have been carefully crafted for superior protection, support and comfort in mountainous terrain, fields and forests, and other on and off-trail uses."

If you can get them for half off I say go for it!

I have the civetta, like mentioned they are a great manufacturer.

I've had mine for about 8 years. I wear multiple pairs of boots but have no doubt they would probably be still around even if they were my only boot.

Rei is a great place to buy boots.  I think it would be very fitting for your style Ross.  Much of their product line (not brand specific) is designed and or developed on the very trails you frequent. I wouldn't go in looking for a certain brand because the best choice is the one that fits your foot.  Rei also allows you to basically take them for a test drive so to speak. I ended up with asolo boots and had 2k+ miles on them before the Goretex finally failed.  They are also really good at fitting the boot to your foot and very knowledgeable with terrain specific recommendations.  I was completely honest when he asked what I outdoor activities i would be doing (high country hunting) and received some of the best customer service I have ever experienced. Their customer service was very similar to Nordstroms.

Zamberlan is not anti-hunting, but REI is.

Not to thread jack, but I posted a thread on here a while back specifically asking for examples of REI being anti hunting.  I don't recall a single articuable example of REI being anti hunting, other than an occasional attitude by an employee. 

I have received excellent customer service from REI and I am very clear to the staff how I intend to use the products.  I've been met with much more curiousity and interest than anything.

I will go to rei to check them out.  However my half off price is a direct on line thing. So that's where I will buy  if I do. I would like to get a boot made in America but know that's hard to do.
