Puget Sound Pheasants Forever Banquet March 22, 2014
« on: March 06, 2014, 07:58:01 PM »
I would like to extend an invitation to all to attend the Pheasants Forever Chapter 257 Annual Banquet, March 22, 2014 at the Fircrest Golf Club.  Registration information can be found on our website: www.pugetsoundpf.org.  Pheasants Forever is a habitat organization and this event is our primary fundraiser for the year.  The funds raised during the Banquet support our chapter’s habitat and youth activities.

As we all know, there are virtually no remaining public pheasant hunting opportunities in Western WA, so our habitat projects are located east of the mountains. We support projects with both money and manpower.  We have been active in a 6000 acre habitat project in Grant County which has resulted in significant opportunity for Washington upland bird hunters, as the project has supported pheasants and quail, (as well as ducks and deer).  We have also supported fellow PF chapters in Eastern WA with some of their projects, and have supported WDFW habitat restoration projects in the Ephrata/Moses Lake area.  Our program coordinates the Western Washington Pheasant Release Program on JBLM and is quite active with the Scatter Creek Release Program.  Our members are active in Hunter Ed, having just completed our 2nd course of the year, Mar 1 & 2, with another scheduled in April.

The Chapter is most proud of its strong support of Youth activities.  We provide one of the largest youth shoots in the NW every August on JBLM and facilitate well-attended youth hunts at JBLM and Scatter Creek during the September youth openings.

Like other organizations, the money raised during our Banquet supports our activities throughout the year.  The PF membership fee is sent to the National PF to support overall organization mission and the meal portion goes to the Banquet venue.  All remaining money stays locally with our Chapter to support our habitat and youth activities.  At the Banquet, there will be a variety of raffles, games and silent and live auctions.  We follow all gaming laws as prescribed by the State.  We will have a variety of merchandise with an emphasis on upland hunting.  There will be a variety of guns.  Several trips are available including Little Canyon Shooting in Idaho, Sage Canyon Outfitters in Oregon, and a mixed preserve and wild bird hunt in Eastern WA.

I encourage all who are interested in supporting youth activities and habitat to attend our Banquet, with the added benefit of having a great evening, delicious food, and the opportunity to take home some great prizes.  The Banquet application can be downloaded at our chapter’s website: www.pugetsoundpf.org.   Join us!
