Anyone Chasing Kokanee Yet?
« on: March 26, 2014, 01:27:36 PM »
Our season is starting to kick off over here in Central Washington. The big boys are starting to show up finally!! Got into a few big ones the other day. I almost forgot how good eating these fish are!! Yum!! Anyone else out there starting to hit up the Kokanee fisheries we have around the state??

Figured since I never post pics, I might as well show off a couple of the land locked Chinook we have picked up lately as well. Along with one more Kokanee pic....

Wow! Nice fish! My dad has been talking about getting over there for the last few weeks, if he sees these pics you'll have company out there real fast!

Where do you catch Kokes that big?

Only 2 defining forces sacrificed themselves for you:

We been getting them over here on the Eastside of the state.....Lets just say Central Washington. No big secret.....and no it isn't Lake Roosevelt! Been getting them already up to 20 inches.....with a couple more moths of good growth, we could be looking at some real pigs come June.

looks like Lake Chelan. On Darrell and Dad's web site they say they have been knocking them dead.
I'd rather be hated for who I am, than loved for who I'm not!

Well if it says that on their website they are flat out lying. I'm a guide as well and would love to book up some trips and make some money, but I will tell you right now, it is slow! The fish haven't really got into the lower basin yet. At least the big Kokanee haven't. We went again today and only got 2 big Kokanee, and 2 rainbows.  Only seen 1 other caught for about 12 boats. I keep hitting it though cause its going to turn on any day now. But I refuse to tell people it is GREAT in order to book trips when it is sub par right now for Kokanee. And yes, it is Lake Chelan.

They haven't even mentioned catching kokes yet on their website this year.  I don't know where that comment came from.

Your welcome. Glad you enjoyed the show. It was a lot of fun, but, they called me! LOL That is a good bunch of guys and Northwest Wild Country. If you need a heads up on how the fishing is or anything, feel free to get a hold of me.
