How much restoration do you want to do, back to original or just enough to look good on the wall?  You night want to post your questions over at doublegun forums, there are a lot of folks that are into restoration or just keeping the old ones(sxs) working.  Post with pictures so they can have a bit of info on the extent of restoration you want and what you have to work with..

After the first shot the rest are just noise.

Find an old wagon wheel,a couple of really weathered cedar fencposts, make a corner type arrangement, and turn that old scattergun into a lamp for the den, complete the piece with a colorful long tailed Rooster pheasant.Wham restoration COMPLETE!. I know someone who has sold many of these type arrangements in Vail Colorado for 5-7k each.He looks for old doubles and picks many of them up for less than 100 bucks. His investment in these projects is less than 700 bucks.Fools and their money.I will say this though they are really neat looking.

Pictures of that would be awesome! That sounds like a great idea to me!

I'd love to see pictures of the Aspen fool-and-their-money-parted arrangement as well.
