For elk hunters in the West Sound area, please join us on May 17th on Bainbridge Island for a elk hunting seminar.  We have asked Jason Phelps to drive up and give instructions on general strategies, and specific lessons on how to use mouth calls.  For those of you who don't know, Jason is both a talented hunter, super nice guy, and also builds and sells his own calls.  If you ever wanted to learn how to properly call elk, this is your chance.

Thanks to the many, many hunters who have already responded.  We have 50 confirmed attendees for the seminar this coming Saturday.  There are still places available--please send me a PM or respond here in the thread.  This is going to be a great opportunity to improve your elk hunting skills, and there will be door prizes, too (sorry, no Hawaii vacations, RJ  ;)).

Do you have to pay ahead of time to reserve a seat or will we pay at the door?  I think that it awesome that this is being organized.

Great question!  Please pay at the door.  Also, PM me (or post online here) if you plan to come, so we make sure to have enough space.  Thanks!

Criticism taken.  Apologies.

Scheduling is difficult, as you can imagine.  We have to avoid the summertime, the hall is only available at certain times, the guest speaker's schedule gets priority, &c.  We do our best.

Thanks for the attention (and bump, Tim).

Where do the proceeds go?

Great question.  100% of the proceeds (both the admission fee and any sales of calls) go to Jason Phelps.  His knowledge, labor, and travel are very valuable, and he deserves whatever we can provide him.  The church is offering the hall gratis, as part of their service to the community.  Those of us who are organizing the event will also pay the admission fee, and offer our labor for free--because we are the ones to benefit from Jason's instruction.

Please come if you can.

No, there really isn't a way to prepay.  We are not an organized club, and we don't have PayPal or anything like that.  Because you have posted your intention to attend, we will put you on the list.

Thanks.

wish I could make it.  I went to one two years ago at the elma sportsmans show.  Jason gives great instruction on how to hunt/call elk and he makes great elk calls.
