Do any of you fellas get the 3rd degree from other hunters on why use use an AR ? Around my house, it's normal to use anything without question....

20 years anything with a synthetic stock kind of did, now no body seems to care what it is.

Just got new glass to finish off the grendel build.
She is a bit on heavy side might "have" to change out free float and stock to drop weight before hunting season...

A little Cerakote and a trip through the parts pile and this should be ready to rock shortly.  Griz Precision K3G-3 polygonal barrel, 1-8 twist, chambered in 6x45 / 6mm-.223.

Here's a pretty cool upper. Seems like a shame to cover it with a Hand guard.

Her's an idea for a new product, clear polycarbonate handguards.  Might be cool.

Not yet, but it could very well still happen.  It may not end up a 6x45, it may end up a 16" rifle length gas 6.5 Grendel or a 18" rifle length gas American 30. Haven't decided which barrel I'm going to throw on it when the upper and handguard are done being Cerakoted this week.

My wife shooting my AR for the first time.  DPMS A2 lower, Colt H-Bar upper.  The upper is large pin, so it's got a bushing to mate to the DPMS which isn't optimal, but i can hit the 400 yard gong at Fernan every time as it sits.  That got me a thumbs up from the Air Force firearms team leader.

I keep looking at that stripped lower to the right in the Brownells ad...  and thinking about a .300 Blackout type short range deer rifle.  But maybe a Grendel or such would be more practical.  I covet all those flattop uppers and their ease of sight mounting while I'm stuck over here with a carry handle  :chuckle:

I'm going to hold off on the Creedmoor, there may be a real cool 6.5 option for the AR15 here in the future. 😉

Sound very cool. Can't wait to see it!
