Shot my 6.8 spc ar for the first time today
« on: March 30, 2014, 09:26:43 PM »
I was shooting 110gr Sierra pro hunter 6.8 spc

The recoil is not much different then 556, I think the accuracy is great for shooting factory rounds and it being my first outing with the gun

A rough measurement is a hair over half a inch

Nice shooting I love my 6.8..  I was pleasantly surpised with how accurate mine is and it is now one of my favorite rifles..

The 6.8 SPC was developed for the military to give the troops a bigger bullet with similar handling characteristics to the 5.56, so as to negate the learning curve when changing to a bigger round.  The military never adopted it, but the varmint hunters did!  I have a 6.8 SPC, and like it, but when I built the 6mmX6.8 SPC, it really turned into a flat-shooting beast!
If it was easy, everybody would be doing it.

When Bernie Madoff did it, it's called a "Ponzi Scheme"
When Government does it, it's called "Social Security"

Nice!

If I were to get another AR, the 6.8 is the only caliber I'd consider. I just can't convince myself to an AR! ;)
