Points split/deer hunt special app
« on: January 30, 2014, 04:24:11 PM »
This is a bit of a weird question but just thought I would throw it out there. I should be going to Montana this fall where I can hopefully shoot 2 and if I am lucky, 3 deer. With that being said, I still plan on putting my 10 points into the hat for deer here in Washington. I might put in with my buddy but he only has 4 points. I am willing to "lose" a few of my points in the hat this year because I would love to draw a tag with someone else and not just on my own. I own and am proficient with all three weapons and I am open to pretty much any unit on the eastside. Anybody out there interested in maybe going in together to see if we can draw. I think it would be a cool way to meet new people and also be a good way to scout more because we could split gas, lodging etc.

I'll have 10 or 11 points this year but highly doubt getting drawn putting in alone... So might as well go in as a group to get not selected again!!!   :chuckle:

Funny thing is I am actually willing to put in with someone with less points. I have terrible luck anyway so on the off chance I do draw, I would prefer it to be with another person

I had been putting in with my sister for about 5 years for quality deer and I had more points than she.  We drew last year, I had 9 points and she had 5 points.  We had the most fun hunting together.

How many points do you have? I am game to go archery as that is what I normally hunt.

I think I will only have 2-3 for quality. Not sure on buck. No worries if you want some on with more.

I will consider anybody because getting out and meeting new people and having somebody to share the experience with is more important then the animal. I know that some people are thinking that I could just bring people along with me and I could but its not the same. I enjoy watching others shoot animals as much, if not more then getting one myself.

Hey Adam,

I'd put in for the late Entiat Archery hunt w/you if interested. But, as you know, I was drawn in 2012 and will only have a couple points. But, that being said, I did draw the tag last time with only 4pts.  I will definitely be applying for this tag again this year.  Just let me know if you want to go in together.

Not sure what you are doing for WA Elk this year, but since you already know a buch of the guys in our camp, you are also welcome to join us for early archery elk too.  We can talk about Quality Bull apps too if you want.

I am game for that as well Ed. Nice thing is Entiat is close to me so if I were to draw it would be easy to get up there before the season and have it pretty well scouted out.

I am not sure what I am going to do for elk. I swore that I was done hunting elk in Washington, especially after going to Oregon last year but if I don't hunt here this year then that means no elk hunting at all for me which will suck.

Seems like a great offer. I'm sitting on 5 points and trying to figure out my hunt this year. I am on the low end of points for some great units, but I figure its worth a shot... I am putting in for some E. Washington Mule Deer hunts...hoping to get another buck this year.
Wishing I was fishing...or in Wyoming
