Bones Bucks II
« on: November 22, 2008, 02:19:07 PM »
Here is one that Lil Bone and I stumbled upon.  I REALLY liked this buck.  Damn I wish I would have seen him with a tag in my pocket.  I came up on him and kicked him out of his bed and he slipped over the hill.  I figured he was gone.  I had just told Lilly how I often see bucks right here and its a good spot because they run up this draw and you get to watch them a long ways.  then you can drive up above them and catch them on top and you can see them again.  ANYHOW, I told Lil to stay put and I ran to the edge and he was right there below me.  I waved to Lilly to hurry over......  i snapped these.  Notice the frost on his red bones.  LOVED the color.  Loved the way they flared.  Loved the height...did I mention I loved the color.   Anyhow, another Washington buck in an open season with hunters about....

Make sure you check out Lil bones thread too for some fo the other bucks we saw.  These were probably the best pics I got of deer, except maybe the rams.  Little harder to get within "bow" camera range when you have a tike along, though we did pretty good.

I've said it before, but I love those chocolate colored antlers so much better than the lighter ones I hunt in Douglas county.

Great pic's Bone! What camera do you use? Thinking about getting my wife a new digital for Christmas (so I can 'borrow' it on my scouting trips).
One shot, one Deer. Two shots, maybe one Deer. Three shots, no Deer
