Bobcat, I also get the DP to cruise Capitol Forest and to use the john at state parks when I travel. :)

I hope a lot of people refuse to pay the measly $30. I might have all the state land to myself this hunting season.

Well it sounds like you and I might be the only ones on here that do. Or at least the only ones that will admit it.

I do too.

One thing I have noticed is the state doesn't seem to require me to have a DP for my boat. Maybe that's next.  Hahaha.

I do too.  I'd rather not have to pay for the DP but I do use it enough to at least attempt to justify it's cost.

State Representative JT Wilcox told my wife that the Discover pass thing is dead right now but will be brought up again during the next session.  They are trying to kill it all together.  It sounds like it is do doing what it was intended for and they are looking to scrap the DP.   :dunno:

I'll buy a private timber pass this year.  Si it's not about the measly 30 dollars.  It's about the fact that I pay taxes city state and federal and already pay for the use of PUBLIC PROPERTY.  So I refuse.  But the private timber folks thell be getting my money.  I go to capital peak all the time.  Never been asked for the dp and probably never will.

:yeah: Never been asked for one either.  One more year, and I will have saved enough to pay the fine if I am caught!  :chuckle:

What $30 permit they go from $33 - $36 and that depends on who you get them from.

No offense to you guys that don't get a DP but still go on DNR land but I hope they do nail you.  I've refused to buy a DP, but I've also not broken the law (even though I hate that law).  I used to go to CF all the time, but haven't been up there since the DP requirement (except for with someone else that had a DP).
May I always be the kind of person my dog thinks I am.

I think the reason for not getting ticketed is that they don't have the money to hire or pay enforcement officers.  You buy the pass, and it gives them more money to pay people to hassle you!  :twocents:
