OMG FINALLY!
« on: April 03, 2014, 06:08:51 PM »
I am one damn lucky man. I have been researching bows and have been straight up BEGGING my lovely wife to allow me to invest in archery equipment.  I am a longer draw guy and my options are somewhat limited.  Last summer I visited the Bowtech Factory in Eugene and then went over to Springfield and checked out The Bow Rack.  I really liked the CPXL and especially liked the Spyder 34.  I've been selling off some of my old diecast collection to hopefully be able to invest.  Last night while checking out bows on Archery Talk and found a gentleman selling a certificate from Hoyt good for a 2014 Hoyt Faktor in any model suited to your personal setup in any color combo you like. I mentioned this to my wife not expecting anything more than " that's nice but we can't afford something like that" but the exact opposite occurred. She said guess we better jump on that deal. Saving like $200 off msrp and tax. Man I'm so pumped.  Thinking of getting the Faktor 34 in Blackout with the American Heritage.  :IBCOOL:

I also stopped at the local Hoyt proshop down here and was really put off by the owner.  He basically said I've never heard of a certificate like that before and I hope you didn't get scammed.  Guess I'll check out Nock Point up north and hope they don't give this rookie to be archer a hard time.

So, you sent some guy online money for a certificate for a bow that you have no idea was a scam?  :yike: good luck getting someone to honor that...

It is a certificate from hoyt directly that was sold at an S.F.W. benefit auction in Utah.  He is a reputable seller on Archery Talk with 100% feedback and has sold a similar certificate like this before with a positive feedback.

Top rated sellers on AT are no joke, some are making a living at it on there. Just make sure the pro shop you buy from will honor the certificate,  if not, call hoyt. Being a long draw fella there's no need to chase speed, shoot for the feel. That's a good bow, good luck.

Don't waste your time there, I have a list or less than satisfactory experiences there and a few buddies with similar encounters as well.

I assume you are speaking of the shop in Puyallup I visited when referring to your friends negative experiences.  Well, let me tell ya something completely opposite.  On Friday I had plans to drive up to Bothell and lynnwood to take care of a couple errands and figured I'd swing by The Nock Point in Mt. Lake Terrace.  I ended up with a somewhat cranky co-pilot as my 4 year old daughter ended up coming down with Pink Eye. She was a trooper and was instantly excited to watch a couple of young lady archers shooting.  I spoke with the owner and he was more than happy to help.  He even setup his his personal Carbon Spyder 34 for me to tryout and confirm my draw length. As I was setting up to shoot a few arrows I glanced to my left where my daughter had been watching the others shoot when I saw that one of the other guys that was working had pulled out a bow and a few arrows and had my little girl shooting at a 5 yard target. Needless to say although this shop is more than 50 miles from home they have undoubtedly earned my business and will be introducing my brother to them as well. CUSTOMER SERVICE MATTERS

I'm referring to the Nock Point. Bunch of circus clowns.

I personally have the Bow Rack in Springfield do all my bow/arrow work. There are others in state that people will vouch for, but Wayne and his guys have always given me true professional service. With all the shops that pop up and disappear 5-10 years later, it's safe to bet on one that's been around for 25+ years. They've only lasted because they're legit. I've found it to be WELL worth the 4 hour drive down there.
