Anyone reported there catch for the year yet? Looks like the only way to do it this year is to download the form and mail it in?

Could have been that the system was down for you all but I was able to email mine. They provide a link for the email address. I saved the finished report to my desk top, added as an attachment and away it went. Here is the link to their page for those who want to email it.

I did not do a trapping report for the 2012-2013 season and was able to by my license this year. Is it a requirement?

Yes, it is required. If you bought a trapping license you need to file a report of catch.

If you don't report you will get dinged when you buy your next license is the way I understand it. Not sure why you may have not been penalized.
Used to be you would lose your license for a year but we (WSTA) managed to get that changed.

I thought it was a $5 fine but I'm not sure on that.

Man I don't know what happened with that post of mine above. It should have read $5 fine. I think if you did not report last season your new license will end up costing you $42 with the dealer fee.
I'll change that post.

Did anyone else get what I guess one would call digital-bleed-over onto the back page (number of muskrats etc. automatically shows up on the back page under other and you can't delete it without deleting the front page too)?

Yes, I did.  I couldn't make it work so I printed it out and filled it in long hand. I couldn't seem to make the e-mail work either but then the page seemed to change a day after I sent mine in by USPS so maybe it works now.

Talked to Olympia and they said there is no penalty for not reporting, which I think is wrong. Methinks we should discuss this at the spring Business meeting.

I went to the game dept office in Ephrata and had the nice lady burn a copy of the report, filled it out, and she mailed it in. Set, point, match

I looked all this up but be danged if I can find what the penalty should be except it should be at least $10. I thought it was the same as failure to report big game success but I'm not sure.
Seems clear to me if anyone doesn't report and doesn't get fined they should be thankful but it seems to be a screw up on WDFWs part.

WAC 232-12-134 Agency filings affecting this section
Report required of licensed trappers.

All trappers purchasing a trapping license must report their trapping activity, regardless of trapping success or whether they trapped or not.
(1) Trappers must report trapping activity by April 20.
(2) Reports must be made using the department's designated Trapper's Report of Catch form or internet trapper reporting system.
(3) If a trapper chooses to report using the Trapper's Report of Catch form, it is the responsibility of the licensed trapper to obtain a form and ensure the form is received by Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife, 600 Capitol Way North, Olympia, Washington 98501-1091.
(4) Any trapper not reporting by April 20 will be in noncompliance of reporting requirements.
(5) False reports will be considered the same as noncompliance.
(6) Failure to report trapping activity is an infraction, punishable under RCW 77.15.160.

RCW 7.84.100
Monetary penalties.

(1) A person found to have committed an infraction shall be assessed a monetary penalty. No penalty may exceed five hundred dollars for each offense unless specifically authorized by statute.

     (2) The supreme court may prescribe by rule a schedule of monetary penalties for designated infractions. The legislature requests the supreme court to adjust this schedule every two years for inflation. The maximum penalty imposed by the schedule shall be five hundred dollars per infraction and the minimum penalty imposed by the schedule shall be ten dollars per infraction. This schedule may be periodically reviewed by the legislature and is subject to its revision.

Let's hope WDFW is at least doing something productive with all the data in our reports.  Like learning there ARE Marten in the Blue Mountains since trappers are catching them there.

I think this has gone back and forth but I figure I will ask the experts.  For NWCO  trapping, we fill out both the Trappers Report of Catch and also the Yearly NWCO report of catch.  Is that correct?  I think the program has gone back and forth on what they want us to submit.
May that for which I prepare never come to pass.

The trappers report of catch is the animals trapped for fur sale.
The ADC report is of animals caught for which you received money for catching the animal not selling the fur.
