BIG LINGS

Our first trip out this spring was out of this world. First drop ,4 fisherman 2 hooks each rod, We brought up 4 lings and 1 halibut. 2 of the lings were over 30 on the same rod. That fishermans first time ling fishing. 3 drifts and we were limited for 7 guys. 14 lings from 25-40 lbs. Headed back in after 2 hours of fishing.

  So I will finish this by saying. It was open for deep water lings, It was legal to use 2 hooks. We did release all of the halibut. ( 9 total) No adipose fins, we did use barbed hooks. Even the game warden was exited to check our jumbo lings.

Nice, looks like a decent grade of fish I've been wanting to get out there, probably not till the opener though. 40lbs is a BIG ling anymore, not many can say they've caught one of those. Did you guys just do a deep water ling run or pick up some bass inshore as well?
