Cameron,, I think they are available in like October, and can be purchased through the game dept. the two stamps have to be bought separately, but I'll find out more as we go. That's why I wanted to go in two years, less hurry time, and less misstakes. The tags will have to be bought per person, but I will check on that too..

Cool WonkyWapiti, your on the list  :chuckle:

I know of one requirement that Wyoming has: Every out of state hunter NEEDS TO HAVE ON THEM THEIR HUNTER SAFETY CARD. EVERYONE. So this give who ever dose not have it to get theirs.

Hi there,
My name is Rene', I think I am a good guy, good person and always ready for a good time.  Do you still have a spot open for that 2010 meat hunt?  I am more than interested.  I would be driving from WA.  Is it a gun or archery hunt?  I am new to this site but hope to establish some hunting body's.

The list is closed, but we can start an alternate list. We have two years, and I'm sure some folks might have to drop out for some reason..

nw_bowhunter and Austraian Hunter, would be the first on the list if you want to..

Hey Tony...

I'd not worry to much about closing the list, I don't know if you remember how many Hunttalkers were going to make it and didn't, plus some times you can get better deals by reserving more space...

Besides, you can have people bring a bag and crash any where as we did when we were there

I don't know if you remember, but Tim (TNCTB) was sleeping on the couch in his sleeping bag and a couple members shared a room...  ;)

That was a good year wasn't it...

I will tell every one, there are two ways to get your elk

1. Wait around the big parks and get them when they cross (this is really a luck of the draw when they come thru)

2. Hike into the hills and get them when they are resting for the last run into the reserve (for this I will tell you right now, you have to be in good shape or you won't make it. The elevation is far higher than most people on these boards are accustomed to and they won't make the hikes)

There’s also another rule besides having a hunter safety card (I've been asked to see mine by the game wardens twice)

You need to make certain you have bear spray on you because of the grizzlies (this is a rule and they will check to make sure you comply)

In addition, because this is part of the park system, you need to leave your pistols at home

Even if you don't get your elk (this is still hunting) make sure you bring your camera, the scenery is breath taking, moose, bison are scattered all over, and you will probably get a chance at seeing a wolf or two... :)

I spoke to the game dept about that. I took mine over 25 years ago and have no proof. They'll allow you to sign an Affidavit  and re issue the card. I'd do it well before the date just in case they change there minds though.

Wolf Track your post has got me totally excited to go.  I look forward to meeting everyone in the near future.  LIke I said before, if I can't get a tag I'd still love to go and help pack out some meat for some of you and be able to see some of the scenery.
