Ruger American in 243
« on: April 07, 2014, 08:04:04 PM »
Got offered a ruger American in 243 for $250. Has three boxes down the pipe. Has a scope on it but he didn't say what scope. Good deal or not?

Good deal, even without a scope assuming it's not trashed.

:yeah:  But check the price of a new one, also.  Those Ruger Americans are a great value, and are reasonably priced.   The mounting system for the scope might make it a sweet deal, even if you don't like the scope.  Plus the savings in Sales Tax, etc. over the cost of a new one!
If it was easy, everybody would be doing it.

When Government does it, it's called "Social Security"

Any of you guys have this exact gun? What ammo worked best? I hand load and I'm a nosler guy. Was thinking about running 55 grain ballistic tip.

My brother has one, 100gr partitions is what he likes. Very good deal on a nice gun. Tell him you want it and sell it to one of us for the same price if you dont like it. :chuckle:
