I'm with you wariner, haven't missed a turkey opener in the last 15 years or so years I've been chasing the thunder chickens.

I wonder how many members run into one another and don't even realize it.

I wonder how many members run into one another and don't even realize it.

Three years ago, I harvested my first bird shortly after legal shoot.  I was taking some pictures of the bird when 2 guys pulled into some adjoining property.  While they were getting geared up, I pulled up and asked if they would take a couple of pics with me and the tom.  They seemed amazed that I had already gotten one, and were nice about taking a couple shots.  Then they recognized me as the guy that gave them the  2 hr turkey hunting seminar at Cabelas in Olympia.  I think they were still somewhat amazed ...

I have met several forum members, but I'll bet I have passed by many more without knowing ....  :twocents:

If you'll be in Colville area next week, I'm driving a royal red with gold trim F-350 Super Duty with matching canopy. I'm staying at Bennny's Colville Inn.   I'll be the one redecorating the parking lot near the dumpsters with turkey feathers.   :yike:

Turkeydancer, funny stuff about the dumpster. Reminds me of a few years ago, we ended up in a motel outside of the blues. They didn't have a dumpster when we got back in late. So I plucked our two birds in the motel room bath tub. What a mess, I am pretty sure we got it cleaned up. With the exception of a few floaters for the next bunch in the room. Oh and when we checked in the girl that checked us in recognized us as turkey hunters and asked if we picked up any ticks yet. And about that time a tick fell off one of us onto the counter. We all had a good laugh.

At least it fell off instead of digging in ........  :yike:

Last year In Davenport I got a nice tom the first day ... when I pulled in to the Black Bear motel parking lot a coiuple days later, one of my friends had just arrived and said he knew I was there because of all the feathers blowing around the lot there too !  :dunno:

It's almost like at work where you know where my brother has gone by following the coffee drops on the floor ...  :chuckle:

Heading over mon morning for the week.  Camping for the second year on a friends property. A little more relaxing then the fairgrounds, cuts out a lot of driving.  Hope to bump into some you, just not in the woods.   On that note, for the new guys going over there, try to remember to respect property lines.   Had a few instances of people crossing fences and bumping birds claiming they didn't know it was private.  It is pretty easy to figure out property lines now so just do your homework.  There are some fences I don't even go near, it is a small town and the locals know who belongs in their backyard.  Have fun and be safe.

Good luck Sneaky ...  Not staying at the fairgrounds either (Benny's).  KimberRich will probably be the only one of my group hunting with me this year.  Thin the flock .....
