In need of shed hunting spots
« on: April 10, 2014, 04:07:16 PM »
All of my good spots are taken. Anyone have a spot or two a guy can go in for a day and pick up 20-30 sheds?

Jackson hole
To hunt and butcher an animal is to recognize that meat is not some abstract form of protein that springs into existence tightly wrapped in cellophane and styrofoam.

I hear hidden creek is loaded with sheds! I would start there first. North bend would be my back up spot.

Bethel ridge?Soup creek and any area between on the roads up from SR12.I found some elk sheds in there while picking mushrooms. The mushrooms were a better bet than the sheds but I found a few. There have been fires in the last few years increasing the grass for feed for the elk which brings in more so the sheds are likely to increase.I have seen more elk in there in the last few years.GL

If you are looking to find 20-30 sheds a day and are willing to spend the money on gas you are gonna have to work at it and hit a couple of these spots but don't tell anybody about them

Antlerkings, Arteman's, Hornhoarder, MrMykiss and Devinshoe's house

I guarantee you can find 20-30 a day, getting them out of there might be a little tough.

Good luck and remember to not tell anyone. :nono:

What did I tell ya?  Number one guy on the list, Antlerking.

Another good one that I forgot to mention is Tinesup, he is pretty good for a few dozen elk sheds.

sounds like enough to bring one of my mules to haul them all out. Maybe I can just go get them all for you next year and I will split them with you. That way you can focus on finding another good spot. We will just get a system going. You find the spots, I go get them and haul them out, and I give you a few. Win win for all!!!

LOL
