Was he getting stiff by the time you skinned him? Mine was and that made for difficult skinning solo.

I was surprised how good our bear meat was also. Your right, no gamie taste at all. We had them both ate by the end of the summer.

Mine is not as good as elk but it's WAY Better than blacktail! Unfortunately with the 2 x 300WSM i punched through the front end I will polish off this meat in a few months. I'll definitely be looking for another one in August.

Went For A Hike And Look Around Where I Was Hunting Today.  I Guess The Bear I Shot Wasn't The One I Was Hunting.  There Is Still Fresh Sign Where I Was Hunting In The Peeled Tree Area.  There Is Also Alot Of Salmon Berries Out That They Are Feeding On.
kckrawler, I'll Give You A Call.

Thanks!  I Burned Alot Of Gas, Hiked Alot, Took A Few Days Off Work, And Pushed The Wife To Her limits :chuckle:  This was A Year I Didn't Expect To Happen, And One I Won't Forget.  Put In Many Years For This, And I'll Have A Sweet Rug.  Something Else That's Pushing The wife :chuckle:
