Kifaru tee-pee?

I was wondering if any of you have any experience in using these kifaru tee-pee's ? I saw a YouTube about them with an ultra lite collapsible woodstove. They are pricy but they seem like a pretty sweet deal for a light weight backcountry elk camp for a few guys.

My brother had one of the big kifaru tipis( 16 man I believe) And collapsable stove. Pretty awesome how light they are and really easy to set up. We had some water leakage through the 2 zippers(this might be preventable with silicon?) other then that it was awesome.

Those stoves (my opinion) are better for quick shots of heat rather then sustained through the night heat. Took us a lot of energy to keep them going( I think just a size thing).

I've got a Kifaru 6 man and a super tarp for when I'm alone.They are awesome.Yes rain will come through the zippers,the good news is that air does to.That way when you are using the stove it wont burn up all the oxygen

I know zilch about teepees but cant you just build a fire on the ground in the middle of the teepee? Doesn't the smoke just go through the hole where the poles come together?

There is enough ventilation at ground level that you won't burn all the oxygen out, no need to worry there.

There is a ton of info on all sorts of pyramid style tents and stoves.  No, they are not an all night burn like a wall tent stove.  They are for warming up and drying out clothes at night, and warming up in the morning.  You'd have to have a darned good hunting partner to be able to have a fire all night with one of these.

Much different kind of teepee.  Silnylon and open flame probably aren't the best combo.

As always thanks a ton for the info gents. It's a lot of coin to throw down, but looks like it would make a comfy camp for multiple days in the cold back country! After hunting in cold wet weather for multiple days it would be nice to be dry and warm when you got back at night.. Thanks again for the info!

I just pulled the trigger on a similar tent it's a six Man teepee made by seek outside. I have not received it yet I have owned smaller style tents and have loved them.

I am currently giving serious consideration to replacing my 16x20 wall tent with a Seek Outside 12 man tipi. I'm actually thinking that I may have to buy the tipi and try it our this season before I part ways with the wall tent. I realize that I'm not going to get as much usable floor space with the tipi as with the wall tent, but the ease of putting it up, combined with the compact package when not in use is sure appealing.  Plus there's generally not more than 5 of us in elk camp, which should be fine in the tipi.

I have had the seek outside 8 man tipi with liner and XL Titanium stove for a couple of years, great product! The only thing I don't like about using the tipi over a floored tent is having to worry about the mice chewing through your stuff that you keep inside the tipi like backpacks, sleeping bags, T.P.

I have been keeping an eye on the seek out side Tee-Pee's with their stoves. 

I have heard mixed reviews of using Tee-Pee's so I will be interested in reading more real use of these products.

So just curious what one does when it's really raining or snowy out? Do you just put your bag down on the snow? Or what do you do with all your gear when it starts pouring out? Doesn't water just flow right through your tipi?

Can't speak for a tipi, but we run a floor less.

Unless you set up camp in a run off area you should be fine. Just pay attention
