Good Trailer Camp Sites

Wife and I decided to move from tent camping to a travel trailer, purchased a 23ft Tahoe Lite which we will pick up at the end of this week. We already have some local areas in mind for camping but I am looking for other areas that will be worth traveling to on the eastside as well as west. Our go to tent spot has been Alta Lake for some sun and fishing but would like other good spots we can go to with our trailer, they dont all have to be state parks, private or usfs are ok too. Preferably would like water and electric hookups but wont shy away from dry camp either as I have access to a good generator. Family friendly is a must as we have a 2yr old and wife is currently pregnant, fishing is a plus!! My goal here is to compile a go to list that I can come back to and look there and pick new spots we haven't tried over time. I could sit down and read a book of good state spots but its better to get first hand info with pro's and con's. Thanks!!

We enjoy Sun lakes around mid July. Lots to do and fishing is great. Enjoy your new RV! Note......put your awning down in the evening as the wind does come up fast!

I like Lincoln rock, daroga and Beebe parks. All on the Columbia river north of wenatchee.

Our all time favorite was Lodge Pole just over the top of Chinook Pass. It is a USPS Camp ground without all the city things just a great place. and on the American River some fish.

Never been to sun lakes looks like its one to hit! Always pass Daroga and beebe but have never stayed i'll put those on the list as well!! Thanks for the input so far guys!

Been over chinook never camped..and your post made me realize I put usfs and not usps! Thanks lol ill have to check that one out!

Sun lakes is very, very windy, bring a wind turbine. Liars Cove in Conconully has everything you want. I'm going there this Friday for the weekend to test out the new camper. Fishing, hunting, ATVing.

There is always chelan state park too. Lots of good memories there as well as crescent bar but this year wouldn't be a good year for cb.

There are maybe 5 resorts and 1 State Park there. It's probably the most friendliest areas in Washington. I've been going there for 35 years and still love it. There is also Forest Circus camping too.

Pine Near campground 'In' Winthrop. Several lakes around offer good fishing. (I'll be fly fishing Big Twin on the holiday) Walk to shops... It's really not camping but is a nice get-away.   Mosquitos are often pretty thick at RiverBend on the Methow but it's a nice campground with all amenities. Chelan state park is nice but if you reserve in advance, Chelan City park is great to take the kids. Very cozy camp/st. park campground just above Chief Joseph dam. Golf near by. Good fishing too. Fish lake.. Lake Wenatchee... Sun Lakes...

Options are endless.

The only problem with greyland state parks were the thieves last time I was there.  It was a well known problem with the rangers there.  My group had over $3500 in stuff stolen in one weekend.  Needless to say I haven't been back.  This was last year or the year before.

I took a look at this one as well last night, it seems just from their site and Liar Cove's site both places are pretty nice and appear friendly and well run. Definitely a place I will be staying in the near future!

Cowlitz Falls Campground

This place is off the beaten path and has hook up for power and water with a dump station. The camp ground has a boat launch on the Cowlitz and the Cipus river is close. It is also close access to Scanewa lake and  Riffe lake is just a hope down a dirt road. All have great fishing.

If you like a little more subdued crowed go with Shady Pines, Liars Cove can get a little noisier than some like at night. Quite a few nights you can hear them having fun little past quite hours at Shady Pines, them again that might fit your needs.

Looks like wife reserved a spot in june for liars cove..we've never stayed in conconully so it should be fun! A little noise doesnt bother me I'm used to it. Looking forward to that trip and ill check out shady pines for a future stay while there!

There are 2 bars in town for eating out if you plan on doing that. Both are kid friendly. The Tamarack and the Sit-N-Bull. Plus a little store for basic needs. Gas is expensive up there by the way.

West side: Dosewallips State park in Brinnon is really nice with everything you need. Fish on the Dosewallips river or pick oysters and clams on the hood canal, Seal Rock nearby is also great. Klalaloch is quite the haul but well worth it, especially is its open for Razor Clams.

East side: Fish lake out of Leavenworth is nice with some lunkers in the lake and you can rent a boat (Mosquitos can get bad mid-summer). Bumping Lake in Naches is nice with some nice hikes and great fishing.

I'm looking forward to it! Thanks again for the advice. I have hunted the sinlahekin many times but never spent time in conconully. I plan on doing as much as the wife and kiddo can handle!

Baker lake has tons of good sites

Howard miller steelhead park in concrete is nice.   So is rasar state park. 

Panorama point at baker lake is my all time favorite. We hit it a few times a year.

Someone mentioned the one above Chief Joseph dam, that would be Bridgeport state park.  It's a nice park at the lower end of Rufus woods.  I really like Lake Roosevelt though and there are about a dozen different campgrounds and some great fishing year round.

Never stayed over there just driven through. Luckily we'll have our trailer for some time to come so I will be able to hit alot of these great places named at some point in time got quite a few trips planned out this summer based off what i can manage with my work schedule we will get in about 6-8 trips from now through sept!

Mossyrock park ran by Tacoma Power on the west side. Nice park, well kept and family friendly. On Rife lake. One of our favorites.
