Holding Low

I recently have been having some issues bringing my pin up to target height. The bow holds my single pin steady as a rock, the only problem is that it's about a foot too low on a target set at chest height. Does anyone have any tips or tricks (peep height/sight adj  ) to remedy this issue or is it just something that I'm going to have to work through?

Sounds like you're working on a good case of target panic.  Do some research on it and you'll find boatloads of material.

For starters, I'd probably start shooting eyes closed only for a while.

Edit:  This of course, is assuming your bow fits you correctly (draw length, peep location).

This is a new bow so it very well could be a combo of both. Will do some research on some tricks to combat target panic. Thanks

One of the beat things is to start above where you want to shot and come down. Its helped me with the problem of coming back up to the target. Might want to make sure the draw length is correct every bows draw legth is different even if it said 29" it could be longer or shorter

TP is a plague I don't wish on anyone. The info above is good info. Remeber, you don't have to take a shot just bebecause you've drawn. If TP sets in and your holding low or high, let down and draw again. Try this until it subsides. Back tension style shooting can help with this if you use a mantra, keeppulling keeppulling keeppulling ect... consentrating on the mantra forces your subliminal vision to align the target. This of course takes practice but can also cure buck fever.

Have you run out of adjustment on your sight to correct the low issue? What is the distance from your string loop to your peep? Are you new to archery? If so are you following your arrow when you make sight adjustments i.e. hitting low move your pin down? Is your arrow set level from nock to rest or does it look like the fletch end is high?

Sorry, the problem is not that the arrow is missing low, it's that at full draw the bow wants to naturally aim low. I am having to "force" (for lack of a better word) the bow up to target height. It's a Bear bow so I was thinking about heading down your way to have you take a look at the rest of the set up if that's something you would do?

Have you had this issue of shooting low with your old bow? Sounds more of bow set-up to me. If the bow is set-up correctly aim above where you want to shot and come down to the intended spot . That is a lot easier than starting lower and move the site upwards Also, make sure you use some orange tape on the burlap bag or what ever target to ensure you are aiming spot on. I found this to be helpful when sighting my bow in.

Target panic .  It sucks I get it really bad too.  You just can't get the pin there.  Some days will be better than others.  What type release do you shoot?

Shoot a wrist release. Been told that back tension will help but I've been too scared to try it haha

 I have a Genesis bow with a safe draw on it. You can shoot it without firing arrows. I also have 20-30 different carter releases to try. I will be home all weekend. Let me know if I can help. I have been shooting for years and helping with target panic. I have a very well stocked bow room and a 100 yd range. Willing to help if needed. I do not live too far from Evergreen.
