Open Mouth

What is wrong with the open scary mouth.  :dunno: With a small female it my not make sense. But a big male could look pretty normal :dunno:

Open mouth always reminds me of the far side cartoon.
He asked, Do you ever give a short simple answer?  I replied, "Nope."

I had mine mounted with the open mouth because the muzzle is darker brown and really doesn't give the bear much contrast as the rest is all black. I like them both ways.

Closed mouths look more natural in my opinion.

I dont mind open mouth in rugs, but full size mounts look silly with them most of the time.

Until i see a bear in its natural environment wandering around unharrassed snarling and show in its teeth I will see open mouth mounts unnatural. Even n the wound and angry bear I tracked into the brush amd killed at 8 feet never opens its mouthand roared at me! It sure huffed amd snapped its teeth and stomped its paws around... but never roared...
I do think rugs look ok open mouth tho.

**edit** apologies for the horrendous spelling. my phone seems to have a mind of its own how to spell things... I promise I know how to spell.  :chuckle:

 :yeah:

I have a shoulder mount done both ways as well as two rugs done both ways, they both look good, but the closed mouth is my favorite and looks very natural.

But if you plan ahead you could have bear vs wolf, cougar, or 2 bears fighting. I have 1 with a closed mouth standing by his tree he peeled.

I have seen open mouth that look really cool...but they are naturally opened and not "angry bear open".  If that makes sense.  I am not a fan of the angry bear look for black bears...just looks fake to me.    :twocents:
