27 years Montana tags. 410-20 no draw for 18 years now long before they started giving bonus points. I now use it for my 1st choice and pick different permit hunts hoping to draw one of those because you don't lose points in Mt if you don't draw your first choice. My theory still isn't working 11 points still no special permit. I suck at drawings

your preaching to the choir!!
The only man who never makes a mistake, is the man who never does anything!!
The further one goes into the wilderness, the greater the attraction of its lonely freedom.

I drew the combo and got a 412-20 permit for the big snowy mountains. Also saw where May 5 the over the counter licenses go on sale.

Over the years of going to Montana I occaisionally put in for a Deer B tag so I can bring home two for the freezer.  I noticed that there are almost no Deer B tags this year in comparison to years past.  Especially in the 4,6 and 7 hundred units.  I know the winter kill has been extreme recently in 4 and 6 hundred units.  I talked to a biologist last year on the way home and asked why they continued to allow all those deer to be killed and he said that hunters have little impact on the winter kill recovery...I guess they must have changed their minds?
