Bruiser buck back from taxidermist
« on: April 18, 2014, 03:19:26 PM »
I got my buck back from the taxidermist months ago and forgot to share it with everyone. I can't stop staring at him!

Mount looks great! He must have a big head. He doesn't look as big without the perspective of a person in the photo!

You sound a little self conscious about your weight, we got some new high country ridges to explore this year, so let's slim that shadow down a little :chuckle:

The "purple" skull is a buck that he killed a few years back that my mom beaded. I think its got the same pattern as a buffalo skull on an old Eagles album cover. I'm sure my brother will put post pics of it.

Happy Easter everyone! He is risen!!

Sooo...not absolutely crazy about beaded skulls. But he was my first buck, I was with my mom and she wanted to bead it. There are some cool design ideas out there, but I'd only bead a buck I'm not crazy about, or a cougar kill I find. Buffalo skulls can look cool and are better to bead because there is much more surface area. Anyway, here are a couple pics.

Tom at Old Heritage Taxidermy out of Wenas, WA. Great guy, great work. We've been to him for multiple deer, elk, bear, cats...anything! He's fantastic!
