Pateros Recon, Tues and Weds for coyote.
« on: April 21, 2014, 02:03:59 PM »
I am trying to expand my hunting spots for coyote in Eastern WA. I currently hunt mostly in the Moses Coulee area over on that side.  I am coming over this week to take a look in the Pateros area. I have looked at the maps and Google Earth, done some internet searching. Without giving much away it looks like the Indian Dan area is going to be the place for me to start, nothing beats boots on the ground. Anyone have any suggestions or encouragements they might share? I am an experienced hunter but this is a new area for me. PM me if you have info you would rather not share with whole group. Thanks, and thanks to this site for being such a great source for information.

Indian Dan is A LOT of private ground these days, and just because it's state land, doesn't mean there haven't been orchards planted all over it in the last few years.  Especially in that area. :twocents:

There is a lot of State Land over and around there. Those GPS HUNT MAPS that are sold on here will help you immensely.
I couldn't care less about what anybody says..............

There is a lot of private no hunting land but I managed to find a few good spots. Lots of coyote sign, old and fresh, but no luck calling anything in. Discovered a great deli/bakery in Pateros, Sweet River Bakery. Weather was good with a bit of wind last night. I am going to return in a few weeks now that I have a feel for the area. Got one spot I neglected that might be good up canyon from where I spent most of my time.
