new mexico jan. archery unit 2a

hey guys i lucked out and drew a January archery deer tag this year in new mexico unit 2a.  have never stepped foot there before so was wondering if any body has been down there and might be able to tell me what to expect as far as weather, access, deer numbers, etc.  and any info anyone might want to give up about general areas to start scouting. thanks guys!!

Can be super cold at times.  Rut should be winding down.  Prepare for feet of snow and/or gumbo muddy rough roads. :twocents:
