well, it would be easier to say with a picture, but look at the natural deterioration levels more than the chew marks, the critters get at them pretty fast sometimes, or not at all, so it's hard to tell age by chews, a brown antler is this year, white but solid last year, starting to pit 2 or more IMO that is.

I have had them chewed to heck a day after falling off.  Got to see the bone.  Sometimes if they are in dark timber or in the duffle, they can hold their color a little more than the ones out in the open.

yep I've had brownies chewed on/up several times.  those porcupines are serious horn hunters. found an elk shed from last yr. the other day, bottom side tan/brown top specaled tan spots/white. 2 yrs. all white.  3 yrs. all white starting to decentagrate 4 yrs. cracked apart chalky/flakey.  thats in the wide open that i've noticed.  i haven't found many sheds though :dunno: what do i no.
Work sucks!!!! I should be shed hunting
